Why unifyzer exists
Your data. Your rules.
Most apps you install today are free to download. Someone still pays: with ads, with tracking, with their own data. We wanted to do it differently.
unifyzer exists for two simple reasons: we no longer wanted to accept ads and tracking in apps, and we enjoy building software. It should simply do what it’s meant to do, without ulterior motives. No ad network reading along. No tracker counting how often you open the app. No data sold, because we don’t collect any.
That also means: we don’t make money with unifyzer. That’s a deliberate choice, not a stopgap. It mattered more to us to build software we can use with a clear conscience than one designed to be monetised.
None of this is perfect. unifyzer and its apps are developed and maintained in our spare time. Mistakes happen, updates sometimes take a while. But what we promise, we keep: no ads, no tracking, no hidden costs. You don’t have to just take our word for it: for the Firefox add-ons and desktop tools, check the source directly on GitHub. For the Android apps, see the respective independent privacy report.
